Current Park Advocacy & Race Impact

Background

There is an extensive multi-use trail system in the park. From wide, flat, and rolling trails, to narrow, steep, and technical trails. There is truly something for everyone. Hikers, mountain bikers, snowmobilers and horse back riders are welcome. Bradbury Mountain has over 30 miles of mountain bike trails with more coming! The Bradbury Twelve Mountain Bike Race has really brought together all types of riders and racers from as far away as Canada & Tennessee. Proceeds from the event have contributed to the creation of Braburymountain.com, several bridges and trail materials, and the labor involved in maintaining the race course and the adoption of the infamous "O" Trail.

"O" Trail Adoption

In 2010 Casco Bay Sports proudly adopted the infamous O Trail. The O Trail was designed and originally contstructed by Gary Oullette. Gary has since moved onto other trail designing endeavors. This trail is regarded as the most technical in the park and maybe even in Southern Maine. Its 2.4 miles of twisty, rocky, rooty, singletrack.

To date (July 2010) volunteer adoptions hours: 42

Greater Portland NEMBA & Friends of Bradbury Trails

They have adopted the Ginn Trail as well. In 2010 they will become part benificiary from the 12 Hour Race. Area mountain bikers are looking forward to what the group has in store for the area
